There are multiple ways to create a ramp and the ramp fence. We will explain one of these methods. This chapter is divided into 3 parts:\r\n<ol>\r\n<li><a href=\"#1\">Ramp slab<\/a><\/li>\r\n<li><a href=\"#2\">Ramp slab styles<\/a><\/li>\r\n<li><a href=\"#3\">Ramp walls<\/a><\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n<a name=\"1\"><\/a>\r\n\r\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/AR6lV6bVx_E\" width=\"853\" height=\"480\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\r\n\r\n<h2>1. Ramp slab<\/h2>\r\n<p>First of all, select and isolate (<kbd>_Isolate<\/kbd> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/isolate-selection.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9070\" \/>) the involving objects around the ramp (walls and columns) for a better workflow , and draw a wall (<kbd>_vaWall<\/kbd> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/vaWall-24.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"24\" height=\"24\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10674\" \/>) between the two ramp flights. Place it just in the middle of the two flights, in order that later on they have equal widths.<\/p>\r\n<p>In order to create leaned slabs, we need to create them from curves that are already leaned.<\/p>\r\n<ol>\r\n\t<li>Draw a <strong>rectangle<\/strong> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5099\" title=\"Rectangle\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/06\/Rectangle.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" \/>\u00a0for each ramp flight (turn the <em>Ground floor<\/em> bitmap layer on and use the snap points of the columns to place the rectangles in the right position).<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Select the first rectangle and turn its control points on <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5164\" title=\"Points on\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/06\/Points-on.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" \/>\u00a0(<em><strong>_PointsOn<\/strong><\/em>).<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Select the control points of the 2 ending corners and <strong><em>_Move<\/em><\/strong> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5089\" title=\"move\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/06\/move.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" \/>\u00a0them up 1.5 m. Press\u00a0<em>ESC<\/em>\u00a0to turn points off (or run <em><strong>_PointsOff<\/strong><\/em>).<\/li>\r\n\t<li><strong><em>_<\/em><em>Move<\/em><\/strong> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"move\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/06\/move.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" \/>\u00a0the second and the third rectangles (or surfaces) 1.5m up (in the Z direction).<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Select the third rectangle (or surface) and turn its control points on <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"move\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/06\/move.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" \/>\u00a0(<em><strong>_PointsOn<\/strong><\/em>).<\/li>\r\n        <li>Select the control points of the 2 ending corners up 1.5 m. Press\u00a0<em>ESC<\/em> to turn the control points off or use the Points off command (<em><strong>_PointsOff<\/strong><\/em>).<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Run the Slab command (<kbd>_vaSlab<\/kbd>, <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/vaSlab-24.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"24\" height=\"24\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10730\" \/>), select <em>From Curves<\/em> option in the command line, and select the 3 rectangles created.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<p><b>Note<\/b>: if the slabs are not created from these rectangles, it means that they are not planar at all.<\/p>\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n<a name=\"2\"><\/a>\r\n<h2>2. Ramp slab styles:<\/h2>\r\n<p>The ramp is now created from these 3 slabs. Now we can see how to adjust their thicknesses and properties.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ffZtwdwXDFc\" width=\"853\" height=\"480\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\r\n\r\n<ol>\r\n<li>Run the <kbd>_vaSlabStyles<\/kbd> command to open the Slab styles dialog<\/li>\r\n<li><b>New style<\/b>: Click on the <em>New&#8230;<\/em> button and select <em>\u00abSlab Style\u00bb<\/em> to create a new regular slab style.<\/li>\r\n<li><b>Add slab layers<\/b>: do right click on the slab style&#8217;s name and select <em>New.. > Slab layer.<\/em><\/li>\r\n<li><b>Change slab thickness<\/b>: click on the arrow next to the new slab style&#8217;s name to see the list of layers. Select one of the layers and adjust its thickness from the <em>Geometry<\/em> tab.<\/li>\r\n<li><b>Change the order of layers<\/b>: select the layer and just use the <em>Up<\/em> or <em>Down<\/em> arrows in the dialog toolbar.<\/li>\r\n<li><b>Attributes<\/b>: select each layer and define its attributes in projection and in section from the <em>Attributes<\/em> tab.<\/li>\r\n<li>Click <em>OK<\/em> button or <em>ENTER<\/em> to accept the changes and close the slab styles dialog.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<p>Now we are ready to select the 3 slabs created before, and from the properties panel, (selecting the slab icon), change the style to the new one cretaed.<\/p>\r\n&nbsp;\r\n\r\n<a name=\"3\"><\/a>\r\n<h2>3. Ramp walls:<\/h2>\r\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/PXGAhaEXbWg?controls=0\" width=\"853\" height=\"480\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3>Wall under the ramp<\/h3>\r\n\r\n<ol>\r\n   <li>From the Level Manager, change the Ground floor Cut plane to 1,2m, so it cuts through the ramp from a lower position.<\/li>\r\n   <li>Run the <kbs>_vaWall<\/kbd> command, change a proper style and alignment and draw the wall placed between the middle and second ramp flights. You can make assign a proper height or extend it to the slab as we will see now.<\/li>\r\n<li>Use the control points to shorten the other wall, so it connects nicely with that new wall. (We can also use the <kbd>vaSplit<\/kbd> command to break it at the intersection point, and delete one of the resulting parts.<\/li>\r\n<li>Run the <kbd>_vaWallExtend<\/kbd> command <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/vaWallExtend-24.png\" alt=\"vaWallExtend\" width=\"24\" height=\"24\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-16034\" \/> to trim off the upper part of the wall that goes beyond the ramp:\r\n<ol>\r\n<li>Select the wall.<\/li>\r\n<li>Select <em>\u00abTop\u00bb<\/em> from the Command line as the extension direction.<\/li>\r\n<li>Select the slab that performs as the ramp landing as the boundary object the wall will extend to.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol><\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n<h3>Ramp walls<\/h3>\r\nWe have already created the wall placed in the middle of the ramp flight. Lets create the other wall of the upper ramp flight and edit them further:\r\n<ol>\r\n        <li>Select and isolate (<kbd>_Isolate<\/kbd> the ramp and walls around it.<\/li>\r\n        <li>On the Ground floor, create a new wall along left side of the upper ramp (according to the view).<\/li> \r\n\t<li>From the <em>Right<\/em> viewport, switch the display mode to <em>Wireframe<\/em> (or <em>Ghosted<\/em>) draw a <strong><em>_Polyline<\/em><\/strong> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5097\" title=\"polyline\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/06\/polyline.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" \/> that defines the wall fence contour. Use auxiliary lines and the osnap points to create this contour and make sure the \u201c<em>Project<\/em>\u201d osnap point is on.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>In the <em>Perspective<\/em> viewport, <strong>extrude the contour polyline<\/strong> 0.2m with the <em>_<strong>ExtrudeCrv\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>command <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5081\" title=\"extrude\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/06\/extrude.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" \/>. Make sure the \u201c<em>Solid<\/em>\u201d option from the <em>command line<\/em> is on.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Place the resulting polysurface into the middle of the two ramp flights so it intersects with the wall.<\/li>\r\n<li>Run the <kbd>vaSubtractSolids<\/kbd> command <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/vaSubtractSolids-24.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"24\" height=\"24\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-14250\" \/> to subtract that extrusion\/solid from the wall.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>You can add more detail to the ramp fence by making the edges of the solid round. Use the <em>_<strong>Fillet<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0command <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5082\" title=\"Fillet Srf\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/06\/Fillet-Srf.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" \/>\u00a0(a fillet radius of 2mm is fine).<\/li>\r\n<li>Repeat the same process to shape the wall of the upper ramp flight.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<hr class=\"separator\">\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/es\/learn\/video-tutorial\/\">Back to Index menu<\/a>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ramp ground floor Since VisualARQ doesn\u2019t have any parametric objects to create ramps, we will use the Slab object to create them.
