Create new railings<\/h2>\r\n\r\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/UMQCEioBCas\" width=\"853\" height=\"480\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3>1.1 Stair railing<\/h3>\r\n<p>VisualARQ doesn&#8217;t provide the option to generate railings linked to stairs. For that reason we will create them from curves that we will get from the stair.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<ol>\r\n\t<li>Select and isolate (<kbd>_Isolate<\/kbd> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/isolate-selection.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"24\" height=\"24\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9070\" \/>) the stair for a better workflow.<\/li>\r\n<li>Run the <kbd>_DupEdge<\/kbd> command <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Dupedge.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2120\" \/> and select the lower edges of the stair slab. (These edges might not be highlighted during this command due to a current limitation that requires a fix).<\/li>\r\n<li>Join the curves of the arch. Activate the control points of the two segments of the arch, and move one of the end points next to the other&#8217;s segment end point. Finally run the <kbd>_Join<\/kbd> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Join.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8912\" \/> and select the two curves to convert them into a single one.<\/li>\r\n<li>Rebuild the curves. The duplicated edges might have a big number of control points (specially the curved one), which would lead to take a long time to generate railings from them. In order to improve that, run the <kbd>_Rebuild<\/kbd> command on the curved arch, and change the number of control points to a lower value (for example: &#8220;15&#8221;) and keep the degree to &#8220;3&#8221;.<\/li>\r\n<li>Join the 3 segments to convert them into one open curve.<\/li>\r\n<li>Run the <kbd>_vaRailing<\/kbd> command <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/vaRailing-24.png\" alt=\"Railing command\" width=\"24\" height=\"24\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10723\" \/> and select the option <em>&#8220;FromCurves&#8221;<\/em> in the command line (or run directly the <kbd>vaRailing > From Curves<\/kbd> command, in the Railing toolbar), select the railing insert options (style &#8220;wall fence&#8221;, alignment &#8220;right&#8221;), and select the open curve generated before.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-5671\" title=\"Stair wall fence GF\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/10\/Stair-wall-fence-GF.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"200\" \/>\r\n<h3>1.2 Railing wall in the ground floor:<\/h3>\r\n\r\n<ol>\r\n\t<li>Create a planar <em><strong>_polyline<\/strong><\/em> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5097\" title=\"polyline\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/06\/polyline.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" \/>\u00a0following the stair contour in order to create the wall fence below the stair. Switch from <em>Polyline<\/em> to <em>Arch<\/em> in the command line to draw the arch in the middle segment.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Run the <strong><em>Wall &gt; From curves<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0command <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5121\" title=\"VA_WallsFromCurves\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/06\/VA_WallsFromCurves.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" \/>\u00a0to create a 0.6m high wall (<em>Generic 100 style<\/em>) from that curve.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3>1.3 Middle railing wall<\/h3>\r\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-5668\" title=\"Middle fence wall\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/10\/Middle-fence-wall.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"250\" \/>\r\n<ol>\r\n\t<li>Create a new wall style for the fence placed in the middle of the stair in the Wall styles dialog (<em><strong>_vaWallStyles<\/strong><\/em>)<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Insert the wall in the model (<strong><em>_vaWall <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5119\" title=\"VA_Wall\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/06\/VA_Wall.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" \/>)\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Create a <strong><em>_Polyline<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"polyline\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/06\/polyline.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" \/>\u00a0in the <em>Front <\/em>viewport which will be used to generate a polysurface that you will subtract from the wall. Make sure the \u201c<em>Project<\/em>\u201d snap point is on.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>In the <em>Perspective<\/em> viewport,\u00a0<em><strong>_Extrude<\/strong><\/em> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5081\" title=\"extrude\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/06\/extrude.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" \/>\u00a0this curve. Make sure the extrusion intersects the wall.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Run the <strong><em>_vaWallSubtractSolid<\/em><\/strong> command <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-118\" title=\"va_wallsubtractsolids\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2008\/11\/va_wallsubtractsolids.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>\u00a0to subtract this polysurface from the wall.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Turn the central wall control points on <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5164\" title=\"Points on\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/06\/Points-on.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" \/>. Extend the wall from the vertical control arrow until it reaches the top stair surface. Notice that when you extend the wall it respects the original solid volume used for the wall subtraction even if the solid is not visible anymore (you can undo the <em>Wall: Subtract solid<\/em>\u00a0and recover the solid with the <strong><em>Wall: Extract solids<\/em><\/strong> command <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-116\" title=\"va_wallextractsolids\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2008\/11\/va_wallextractsolids.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>\u00a0).<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n<hr class=\"separator\">\r\n\r\n<h2>2.
