Insert a new stair<\/h2>\r\n\r\nSwitch to the layer where the Ground floor bitmap is located.\r\n\r\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-5665\" title=\"Stair GF\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/10\/Stairs-GF.jpg\" alt=\"View of a VisualARQ model with a stair\" width=\"400\" height=\"220\" \/>\r\n\r\n<ol>\r\n  <li>Run the <span class=\"va-command-icon\"><span>_vaStair<\/span><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/06\/VA_Stair.jpg\" \/><\/span> command or click on the <em>Stair<\/em> icon in the <em>VisualARQ Objects<\/em> toolbar.<\/li>\r\n  <li>Select the <strong>Stair style\u00a0<\/strong>you wish to insert and the basic insert options: alignment (select &#8220;right&#8221;), height (3m), width, step count (17) and tread dimension (0,3m). Use the <em>Rule<\/em> icon <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"va-inline-img\" title=\"Rule icon\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/07\/Rule-icon.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"90\" height=\"26\" \/>\u00a0along with the <em>Width<\/em> or the <em>Tread<\/em> fields to give the stair the proper values according to the bitmap. These values can be edited afterwards.<\/li>\r\n  <li>Specify the stair <strong>start\u00a0insert point<\/strong>\u00a0in the model, according to the bitmap image.<\/li>\r\n  <li>Specify a <strong>new insert point<\/strong> every time the stair turns. A new stair flight is created for every insert point. Right click to finish the command. The stair is now created. It does not matter if it is not exactly like expected. You can adjust the stair shape and properties afterwards.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n<blockquote>\r\n  <p><strong>Note<\/strong><\/p>\r\n  <p>There is also the option to create spiral stairs, if needed, under the stair toolbar, or from the command line, after running the <span class=\"va-command\">_vaStair<\/span> command.<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"mt-5\">Edit the stair flights and landings<\/h3>\r\n\r\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-5663\" title=\"Stair properties dialog\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/10\/Stair-properties-dialog.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"313\" \/>\r\n\r\nThe parameters of the stair object can be edited from the Stair properties in the <strong>Rhino properties panel<\/strong> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"va-inline-img\" title=\"properties icon\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/06\/properties-icon.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" \/> or from the <strong>VisualARQ Object properties<\/strong> dialog box <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"va-inline-img\" title=\"VA_Properties\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/06\/VA_Properties.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" \/>. The options to edit the stair flights and landings can only be edited from this dialog.\r\n\r\n<ol>\r\n  <li><strong>Open the Stair Properties dialog<\/strong>: double click on the stair object or select the stair and run the <span class=\"va-command-icon\"><span>_vaProperties<\/span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"VA_Properties\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/06\/VA_Properties.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" \/><\/span> command.<\/li>\r\n  <li><strong>Edit the stair flights:<\/strong> click on the arrow next to the stair object&#8217;s name to view the list of stair flights. Select the second flight and set the interior and exterior boundary (<em>Boundary<\/em> tab) to <em>&#8220;curved&#8221;<\/em>. Do the same with the fourth stair flight.<\/li>\r\n  <li><b>Add steps to landings<\/b>: select the second flight, and from the <em>Type<\/em> tab, add 3 steps. Do the same with the fourth stair flight.<\/li>\r\n  <li>Click <em>ENTER<\/em> button to accept changes and exit the dialog.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n<div class=\"my-5\">\r\n<hr class=\"separator\">\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n<h2>2. Create and edit new stair styles<\/h2>\r\n\r\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/x8ShLs-yabU\" width=\"853\" height=\"480\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\r\n\r\nOpen the <em>Stair styles<\/em> dialog box <span class=\"va-command\">_vaStairStyles<\/span> to edit one of the existing stair styles or create new ones. These are the options available for defining the stair features:\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n  <li><b>Type<\/b>: balanced or not.<\/li>\r\n  <li><b>Steps<\/b>: step tread and riser dimensions. Disable both for the selected style.<\/li>\r\n  <li><b>Rules<\/b>: enable this option to check in its properties dialog if a stair object meets this slope rule.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<b>New stair style<\/b>: select the <em>New&#8230;<\/em> button and then <em>Stair style<\/em> to open the wizard that will guide you through creating a new regular stair style.\r\n\r\n<strong>Stair Slab:<\/strong> When you create a new stair style, a slab is automatically created.
