Insert the beam in the model:<\/h3>\r\n<ol>\r\n\t<li>Select the <strong>Beam<\/strong>\u00a0command\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 24px;\">(<strong>_vaBeam<\/strong>)\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5106\" title=\"VA_Beam\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/06\/VA_Beam.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" \/>\u00a0<\/span>to open the beam insertion dialog.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Select the <strong>insertion parameters<\/strong> of the beam you wish to insert: style, alignment, elevation, profile size, etc\u2026 For the beams of the project you can choose a 25x20cm rectangular style.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Select the<strong> beam insertion point<\/strong> with a left-click on the desired point, and left click again to specify the <strong>end point<\/strong>.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Insert the other beams with the same process or making copies of them.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Use the <strong>beam control points<\/strong> (by selecting the beam and selecting the <em>_<strong>PointsOn<\/strong><\/em> command <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5164\" title=\"Points on\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/06\/Points-on.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" \/>\u00a0) to modify the beam length or position.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n(<strong>Note:<\/strong> Beams are represented as a single line as long as the <em>Plan view<\/em> mode is enabled. You can change this line representation from the<em> attributes<\/em> tab, in the beam styles dialog (<em><strong>_vaBeamStyles<\/strong><\/em>)\r\n\r\n(<strong>TIP:<\/strong> Make sure the<em> Quad, Perp\u00a0<\/em>and <em>SmartTrack<\/em>\u00a0osnap points are on. That will help you insert the beams more precisely.)\r\n\r\n<h3>2.\u00a0Beam from curves<\/h3>\r\n<ol>\r\n\t<li>Select the\u00a0<strong>Beam<\/strong>\u00a0command\u00a0(<em><strong>_vaBeam<\/strong><\/em>)\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"VA_Beam\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/06\/VA_Beam.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" \/> to open the beam insertion dialog.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Select the <strong>Beam style<\/strong> you wish to use and define the basic insertion options.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Select &#8220;<strong><em>From Curve<\/em><\/strong>&#8221; in the command line and then pick one <strong>curve<\/strong> from the model. The beam or beams created that way will have as many control points as the curves from which they were created.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<h3>Editing Beam Properties<\/h3>\r\nBeams can be edited as the rest of VisualARQ objects:\r\n<ol>\r\n\t<li><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5098\" title=\"properties icon\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/06\/properties-icon.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" \/>\u00a0VisualARQ properties in Rhino properties dialog box.<\/li>\r\n\t<li><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"VA_Properties\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/06\/VA_Properties.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" \/>\u00a0VisualARQ Object properties dialog box.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n<h3>Change the beam 2D representation:<\/h3>\r\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-5617\" title=\"1.3.2 Beams 2D\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/09\/1.3.2-Beams-2D.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"250\" \/>You can change the beam 2D representation from the beam styles dialog.\r\n<ol>\r\n\t<li>Open the <strong>beam styles dialog<\/strong>\u00a0(<strong><em>_vaBeamStyle<\/em>s<\/strong>) by right clicking on the beam icon <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5106\" title=\"VA_Beam\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/06\/VA_Beam.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" \/>\u00a0or\u00a0on the properties icon <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"VA_Properties\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/06\/VA_Properties.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" \/>, after selecting the beam with the style you wish to modify.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Select the <strong>beam style<\/strong> you wish to modify and\u00a0enable <em>Override attributes\u00a0<\/em><span style=\"line-height: 24px;\">in the\u00a0<\/span><strong style=\"line-height: 24px;\">attributes tab.<\/strong><\/li>\r\n\t<li>Change the <strong>linetype<\/strong>. The list of linetypes available is the same as Rhino has in that document.
