Since you will work in the ground floor level, first of all:\r\n<ol>\r\n<li>Show the layer where ground floor bitmap is located, and hide the other &#8220;Bitmap&#8221; layers.<\/li> \r\n<li>Set the Ground floor the current level: click inside the TOP viewport and then\u00a0double click on the \u201c<em>Ground floor<\/em>\u201d level name, inside the <em>Level Manager<\/em> dialog. This will place the construction plane on that level. Make sure the <em>Plan view<\/em> representation is on <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/CutPlane-24.png\" alt=\"Cut Plane icon\" width=\"24\" height=\"24\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-16155\" \/>, so the model will switch to plan view representation.<\/li>\r\n<li>Add a new layer &#8220;Auxiliary Curves&#8221; where we will create all the auxiliary curves to create objects, and make it the current layer.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<h1>Slabs<\/h1>\r\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/45ERhzVQjYk\" width=\"853\" height=\"480\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\r\n\r\n\r\nSlabs can be created from rectangular boundaries, from existing boundary curves or from surfaces. We will use the 2 first options for each one of the two slabs in the ground floor.\r\n\r\nFirst of all draw the 2 closed curves that will define the boundary of each slab. Use the Rhino 2D tools to create them. Create a new layer for the auxiliary curves:\r\n\r\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" title=\"1.1.1 Slab curves\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/09\/1.1.1-Slab-curves.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"200\" \/>\r\n<ol>\r\n\t<li>Run the<strong> <em>_Rectangle<\/em><\/strong> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5099\" title=\"Rectangle\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/06\/Rectangle.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" \/>\u00a0command to create the exterior slab boundary.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Run the <strong><em>_Polyline<\/em><\/strong> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5097\" title=\"polyline\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/06\/polyline.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" \/>\u00a0and <strong><em>_Curve<\/em><\/strong> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5078\" title=\"Curve\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/06\/Curve.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" \/>\u00a0commands to create the interior slab boundary curve. Run the <strong><em>_Mirror<\/em><\/strong> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5088\" title=\"mirror\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/06\/mirror.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" \/>\u00a0command to create a symmetric copy of the curves and the <strong><em>_Join<\/em><\/strong> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5085\" title=\"Join\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/06\/Join.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" \/>\u00a0command to convert them all into one closed curve.<\/li>\r\n\t<li><strong><em>_Move<\/em><\/strong> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5089\" title=\"move\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/06\/move.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" \/>\u00a0the exterior boundary curve 0.1m down from the Side viewports. The slab will be created by taking this curve elevation as the top slab surface.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<strong>Exerior slab<\/strong>\r\nRun\u00a0the Slab command (<strong>_vaSlab<\/strong>) <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5114\" title=\"VA_Slab\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/06\/VA_Slab.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" \/>\u00a0. The slab insert dialog will appear:\r\n\r\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-5597\" title=\"1.1.2 Slabs\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/09\/1.1.2-Slabs.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"200\" \/>\r\n<ol>\r\n\t<li>Select the slab insert options from the insert dialog: choose the <em>Top<\/em> alignment and the existing style (that determines the slab thickness).<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Insert the slab by picking the two opposite corners of the exterior boundary, taking the rectangle created before as reference.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<strong>Interior slab<\/strong>\r\nIn this case we will create the slab from the curve we created before. Run\u00a0the Slab command (<strong>_vaSlab<\/strong>) <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5114\" title=\"VA_Slab\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/06\/VA_Slab.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" \/>\u00a0. The slab insert dialog will appear:\r\n<ol>\r\n\t<li>Select the slab insert options from the insert dialog: choose the <em>Top<\/em> alignment and the existing style.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Select <em>FromCurves<\/em> option in the command line and pick the interior slab boundary curve created before.<\/li>\r\n\t<li>Change this slab thickness to 0.1 m, as described below.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n(<strong>TIP 1<\/strong>: just in case one of these curves is open, run\u00a0the <strong><em>_CloseCrv<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0command to add a segment and close it).\r\n\r\n(<strong>TIP 2<\/strong>: in order to avoid having the top slab surface in the same plane as the Ground floor Picture Frame, move the Picture Frame a few millimietres up.)\r\n\r\n<strong>Change the slab thickness<\/strong>\r\n\r\nThe slab thickness is defined by the slab style but it can be also edited by each slab object individually.\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li><strong>By Object<\/strong>: select the slab and change its thickness from the<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>VisualARQ Properties in the Rhino Properties dialog box<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5098\" title=\"properties icon\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2012\/06\/properties-icon.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" \/>.<\/li>\r\n\t<li><strong>By style<\/strong>: open the slab styles dialog (<em>vaSlabStyles<\/em> command), select the layer component of the slab style (click on the triangle next to the style&#8217;s name to display the layer components), and change the thickness value from the <em>Geometry<\/em> tab.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-12408\" src=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2016\/05\/Slab-Styles-dialog.png\" alt=\"Slab Styles dialog\" width=\"668\" height=\"454\" \/>\r\n\r\n<hr class=\"separator\">\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/visualarqv2.instawp.xyz\/it\/learn\/video-tutorial\/\">Back to Index menu<\/a>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ground floor The document is ready to start modeling the project.
